Kelly Kennedy (MA ’07) cited for certificate of merit by 2009 John B. Oakes Award judges

Kelly Kennedy (MA ’07) is one of two recipients of certificates of merit from the judges in the Oakes Award for excellence in environmental journalism. Kennedy, a reporter for the Military Times was sited for the work, a Web-only project, about the health hazards of burn-pit smoke to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Her new book "They Fought for Each Other" is about Charlie Company, a regiment that had the most casualties of any U.S. battalion since Vietnam.
